Did Orange theory fail ?

Why we teach a different philosophy. Why the industry is built around the red line. It gives you a quick win.

How many times have you dieted and cranked up cardio only to stall out?

The body will always find its balance and your brain will always quit on motivation.

Once you have been adapted to the cardio system, there isn’t an opportunity for change. Once you are burnt out on restrictive eating, you quit.

That’s why we focus on the long term. How can we slowly change our body(mind) for the long term and make it sustainable.

We use cycles of strength and function based programs then we pair it with whollistic habits based practice.

Nothing wrong with the red approach but we aren’t suprised at its lack of long term change.

Now let’s talk about the important stuff. How capable are we as humans? How durable are we ? How do we function?

Intensity based systems do 1 thing, burn calories and make you tired.

Our system makes you strong, durable, capable, superhero and LEAN!

What sounds better to you?

Btw, 100 curls with 8lbs dumbbells is not strength training. It’s just shitty cardio.

#Itsoktoprevail and you too can prevail.

Just give us a dm or drop a below and we’ll get you started

There’s now or now

Take Dalton for Example

! Dalton  transitioned from splat points to strength gains. His body responded appropriately.

A more balanced approach to nurtrition/habists/strength training and specific low stress conditioning.

Cardio based exercise works at first but then it lags.

Prevail never lags.

Dalton obviously isn’t lagging either.

Props to you buddy for kicking ass.

Coscto Hack (Part 1) Protein Bro

Im lazy like you. I loathe meal prep, it’s never been part of my process. Not hating on it, I know it helps a ton of people.

I try to stick to principles and then of course convenience.

Principle : prioritize protein

Convenience : something already made for me

This picture is from 515am, the last thing I want to do is wake up even earlier to cook eggs.

I would much rather prefer a fried egg or over easy on a burger but hard boiled and pre packaged is about 1000% easier. Hard boiled eggs aren’t my favorite but I’m lazy.

Costco

sells a box of these and I can grab a high protein snack at almost anytime.

You know what I hate more than bland basic eggs? Excuses, those don’t help anything.

Eggs are also one of the few single sources of a complete protein and healthy fat.

Most everyone would benefit from eating a Mininum of 2 WHOLE eggs everyday.

What’s your favorite way to eat eggs?

With flour and sugar ?

What’s your favorite excuse for taking control of your health?

Prevail Taco Diet Day 27- Mayan

Pineapples never belong on pizza, but they sure have a home on these Tacos.

#prevailtacodiet day 27 The pastor tacos at the The Mayan Taqueria & Cantina are hands down the best pork tacos I have had yet.

The Mayan is a neat little spot north of paseo. Family-owned, excellent service, fun atmosphere, and one of our favorite taco spots.

The Carna Asada was solid the chicken decent, and the barbacoa was tasty.

The tacos are right between traditional and hipster. Traditional is double corn tortilla/meat/onion/cilantro Hipster is that as well as everything else you can think.

These hobble down the line of each. We once again met some strangers asking, "what are y'all doing?"

You get that when you set up a camera on a tripod and talk into during lunch rush. " We are on a 30-day taco challenge"

" We are going out to eat every day for tacos while losing weight." them- "oh, wow, that sounds awesome." Tacos are excellent, unless of course its fast-food tacos. We are doing the challenge.

Because we want to stop food/fit shaming and the toxic cycle of "bad" food means exercise as punishment.

We are intentionally only working out 3 - 4 times a week, and none of it is High intensity. We stand for high quality.

Quality of training Quality of Tacos Quality of experiences Here's a cheer ( of quality whiskey) to living the best life.

Prevail Taco Diet Day 26- Iguana and Revolucion

" Is 6 inches small?" yes Danielle the Tacos on 6" tortillas are small

Anyways today we had a horrible decision to make between 2 Restaurants in midtown.

Revolution or Iguana We chose both.

Here's the good news both places put cabbage on their fish tacos.

Both places had good chicken tacos.

Iguana Mexican Grill shrimp taco-

Decent but wouldn't go back for it Fish taco- much better, pretty good fish taco Chicken- was good

A score of 7 Revolución Fish taco-

not quite as good but not bad Carne asada - pretty good, not the best chicken taco- was good A Score of 7

I doubt we would go back to either place for tacos. but would go back to Revolucion for drinks and their spicy popcorn.

Even tho the chips and salsa at iguana were pretty damn good.

weight is back down to it' lowest 5.5lbs down, Danielle hates me for it.

We had an epiphany tonight. We haven't been to the Mayan in paseo, and we love that place.

it will be lunch tomorrow taco de nacho on Friday taco nation on Saturday Danielle is also letting me know that taking her on dates every day is the best.

I have a feeling yall will see us eating yummy food out more often.

Ps. We are not working out everyday to burn off tacos nor are we working out every day. “Well of course y’all can eat tacos because you workout all the time” is exactly why we are doing this challenge

To help teach everyone that there are no bad food or good foods.

To teach the exercise is never a punishment for food And to reiterate that if you follow simple principles that you can have your cake and eat it too ( without guilt)

Prevail Taco Diet Day 25- Gas Station with no Gas

Day 25 #prevailtacodiet Weight is still down.

Today we strolled into a gas station that doesn’t serve fuel.

That’s exactly how it looks inside.

Stroll the back and order the usual Carne asada/Barbacoa/ pork / chicken Roll by the coolers to pick up a topo Chico and an aloe water ( you read that right) A few minutes later tacos arrive on a paper plate.

Double corn tortilla/ meat/ onion / cilantro with an unknown pepper on the side.

Carne asada - 7.8

Pork - 6

Barbacoa - 5

Chicken - 6.5

So decent real deal tacos Here’s the good thing , they are about 6 minutes from the gym Aloe water is pretty good Not a bad place to get a decent Carne asada taco on the quick. Whatever that pepper is , it’s hot.

Prevail Taco Diet Day 24- Taco Mayo

Taco Mayo is the dollar general of tacos, scratch that the dollar tree.

I was hoping for a quick snapshot of life as an 11 yr old crushing dozens of tacos but either the tacos have gotten worse since then or my taste has improved. More than likely it's my perspective at 11 yrs old, taco's were a treat, at 37 fast-food tacos are a chore at 1030am but a blessing at 230am. Day 23 #prevailtacodiet We are over shitty tacos. It's only gonna be the good stuff here on out. btw if you order 12 you can get them for $1.00. maybe the taste better cheaper

Prevail Taco Diet Day 22- Taco Truck on Britton

THESE ARE THE BEST CARNE ASADA TACOS YET!

We remember seeing a taco truck on Britton from a while back and decided to try it out. It was delicious.

Honestly wasn't too excited about eating because we had Bbq and cake at the wedding we shot. ( i know tough life, btw the chocolate cake was better than the vanilla ).

These tacos were going to be checking off the box of "Did we eat Tacos today?" but was a pleasant surprise.

The carne asada taco was a high 8, and Danielle's chicken was a mid 8.

The tongue was good, but I wasn't that excited about the cheek.

either way, if you ever think, " I just want a delicious basic street taco."

Taqueria el casador is the place to go. It's on the southside of Britton between Classen and broadway extension.

Order as many carne asada tacos as you can hold then share them with some friends

Day 22 #prevailtacodiet. I'm down 1% in body fat, which is almost 2lbs of fat. Remember, there are no good or bad foods, to lose fat, you need to upset the energy balance.

p.s the truck doesn't have a page to checkin to or tag

Prevail Taco Diet Day 21- Torchy's
danigphoto-06916.jpg

Finally, We ate some legit breakfast tacos.

It's a rough life brunching on a Friday morning, but someone has to do it.

We knew Torchy's was going to be useful, but we didn't think they would be this good. We mixed our plate with two breakfast tacos and three regular tacos.

Danielle's egg potato cheese tacos was a 7.8
My egg onion smoked and marinated beef taco 8.2

!00% coming back for breakfast another day

Then off to
Danielle's barbacoa- dry but pleasant -7.5
my brisket taco was good but not great- 7

But let's taco-bout (chuckle) This green chile pork with the missionary treatment. This taco was recommended by a buddy of ours. We know he doesn't mess around with food.

Missionary style is where they put a Tostado INSIDE the regular taco! Piled high with all sorts of nonsense, this taco came in hot. It was delicous. A solid 8.8

Get this taco

The experience was inline with hacienda. It would be a coin-flip decision.

Fitness-
we are both still losing weight; we both have lifted 3x a week and have done cardio 2x a week at very low intensity. We have walked every day, we have had a salad every day, and we've stayed hungry every day. That's the secret.

We shoot a wedding tomorrow. , they better have tacos

Prevail Taco Diet Day 20- Tacoville

Tacoville would have been much better if we were drunk, but even then I'd probably just go get the Dorito taco from the bell.

Now, nothing was bad but nothing was great

For those that recommended it, y'all are living under a taco rock.

However the chips were amazing

EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NO SALSA, CHAOS!!!!

So, umm yeah Danielle and I are at our lightest weights. So that's good

#prevailtacodiet day 19. We should be crushing some good stuff over the next couple days. Bring on the weekend
